Heidelberg’s finest residences,
envisioned by a collective of the industry’s elite.

93–97 Darebin St, Heidelberg

ARCHITECTURAL BRILLIANCE

Born from a collaboration between Pask and three pre-eminent Melbourne design practices, Heide Collective is an expression of rare vision, innate artistry and invaluable expertise.

PRELIMINARY SKETCH | DAN WEBSTER

Architectural
Inspiration

At the inception of every project, Webster Architecture look first to the surrounding neighbourhood, drawing inspiration from the architectural heritage of the area as well as defining characteristics of the local landscape.

Heide Collective embodies this philosophy, designed to complement the immaculate Edwardian residences for which Heidelberg is renowned whilst capturing expansive views of verdant tree canopies. The result is a series of residences that whilst contemporary, appear right at home on Darebin Street providing an elevated, tranquil living experience to its residents.

Simplicity of form in it’s rightful setting, creates an understated elegance.
The layering of textures, creates a softness to the bold form.
Restraint in material use draws focus to the depth in the form, highlighted by the behaviour of light.

Working closely together from conception to completion, Webster Architecture, SJB Interiors and Nathan Burkett Landscape Architecture have envisioned an exemplary collection of townhomes.

An Elegant
Facade

Elegant and well-proportioned, the facade of Heide Collective is defined by a sense of balance between natural and architectural elements. A strong and robust linear form is offset by abundant greenery, creating a modern yet soft and unimposing presence. The materials palette has been designed to capture the essence of a home whilst offering a sophisticated addition to the streetscape. Black steel fosters an industrial aesthetic whilst brick and timber tie in with the Edwardian character of the local neighbourhood, establishing an organic feel.

Afforded with expansive walls of glass, each home enjoys a picture-perfect view of the landscaping and surrounding greenery as well as optimum ventilation within. Individual entry points lined with greenery cultivate a considered arrival experience, and a beautiful sense of place from the outset.

INTERIOR ARTISTRY

A refined exterior gives way to authentic interior spaces and inspiring garden sanctuaries. The result is an environment of convenience and beauty – tailored for modern living yet imbued by timeless quality.

“Inspired by Japanese minimalism, the interiors are designed with an emphasis on texture, cultivating a sense of calm and respite.”

Andrew Parr | SJB

Interior Design
Inspiration

Taking cues from the architectural form and contemporary living spaces, SJB Interiors was inspired by the pared-back elegance of Japanese minimalism. The primary focus for the interior spaces was to create a functional, enduring and high-quality living environment that will stand the test of time and embody an authentic sense of craftsmanship.

Allowing room for residents’ own personal styling choices, the spaces are not overly adorned – they rely on the natural beauty and textural richness of the finishes, allowing these refined, exquisite details to elevate each home.

SJB Interiors was also inspired by the changing nature of modern living, and as such, wanted Heide Collective to feel like a sanctuary for its future residents. Careful selection of colours and materials has delivered an underlying sense of calm within the spaces, whether you are working, unwinding, entertaining or exercising.

Living
Sanctuary

The heart of the home, the open-plan living area presents a haven for modern living. Here, generous proportions are accentuated by floor-to-ceiling windows, allowing an abundance of light to stream in and illuminate the space. Championing a combination of timber and natural stone, the elegantly restrained finishes palette is the perfect counterpoint to the lush greenery of the landscaping. A seamless connection between the living room and terrace cultivates an indoor-outdoor living experience – ideal for entertaining or rejuvenating during the warmer months.

For the culinarily inclined, the kitchen is an expression of functionality, convenience and sophistication, sparking inspiration on any night of the week. Plentiful integrated storage and high-end appliances serve to simplify daily rituals, whilst an alluring natural stone bench becomes the natural gathering point of the space.

Curated
Retreat

Texture, tone and tranquility are the hallmarks of the master suite, affording residents with their own private sanctuary. Generously over-sized, the master bedroom is set against a backdrop of greenery, creating an instant sense of calm. This is enhanced by plush wool blend carpets, encompassing the foot in a soft embrace. Equipped with bespoke joinery, residents will enjoy ample storage for their garments as well as a charming built-in dresser or desk nook to larger typologies.

The connecting ensuite is defined by a layering of textures, from organic feature tiles and brushed nickel tapware to warm timber cabinetry. The walk-in shower fosters a sense of hotel-style luxury whilst considered storage options ensure easy, practical living.

INSPIRED LANDSCAPING

“The gardens have been designed to draw people outside; they are an extension of the living spaces, echoing the natural beauty of the interior palette.”

Landscape
Inspiration

Nathan Burkett is impassioned by landscaping that works harmoniously with architecture, providing residents and passersby with a feeling of tranquillity. Whether it’s softening the form of the facade or providing green vistas to the interiors, the landscaping of Heide Collective has been wholly integrated into the design, breathing a sense of life into the building.

Featuring mature trees and luxuriant vegetation with rich green foliage, the plant selection transforms the courtyard into a sublime oasis, drawing residents out of their home and encouraging them to connect with nature.
